Privacy Policy
Learn how GlutenGo AI handles your information.
Last updated: July 17, 2026
Introduction
GlutenGo AI respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our mobile app and related website.
We aim to collect as little information as possible. Many app features store information locally on your device, not on our own servers.
Information We Collect
The categories below describe what information may be handled depending on how you use GlutenGo AI.
A. Account information
If you create an account or sign in, Firebase Authentication may process information needed to create and manage your account, such as your email address, authentication provider, user ID, display name, and login-related security information.
GlutenGo AI uses Firebase Authentication for account creation, login, authentication, and account deletion, and lets you sign in with email and password, Google Sign-In, Facebook Login, or Sign in with Apple.
If you sign in with Apple, Apple processes your Apple ID sign-in according to Apple's own privacy policy. If you choose to hide your email address from GlutenGo AI, Apple provides us with a private relay email address instead of your real address, and Apple forwards messages sent to that address to you.
B. App usage information
GlutenGo AI does not collect or store your app usage activity on our own servers.
Some app features may save information locally on your device, such as saved products, shopping items, preferences, or chat history. This local information remains on your device unless a feature clearly sends it to a third-party service, such as when you use the AI assistant.
C. Product and scan information
When you scan a product, GlutenGo AI may process the barcode on your device to show product-related information.
GlutenGo AI does not store your scan history on our own servers. If you choose to save scanned products, they are stored locally on your device.
Product information may come from app data, third-party sources, or databases used by the app. Product labels and ingredients can change, so always verify the product packaging before consuming food.
D. AI chat information
When you use the AI assistant, the message you send is transmitted to OpenAI API to generate a response.
The AI assistant is designed to answer gluten-free, celiac/coeliac disease, food label, ingredient, recipe, restaurant, and gluten-free lifestyle questions.
Do not share sensitive medical information, passwords, payment information, or other highly sensitive personal information in the AI chat.
If chat history is saved in the app, it is stored locally on your device unless the app clearly states otherwise.
E. Device, advertising, and technical information
GlutenGo AI does not directly collect device diagnostics or technical analytics for its own separate tracking system.
However, third-party services integrated in the app may automatically process certain technical information.
Firebase Authentication may process authentication-related information for login and security purposes.
Google AdMob may process information such as IP address, advertising identifiers, device information, diagnostic information, and ad interaction data for advertising, analytics, consent management, and fraud prevention.
F. Diagnostics, crash reports, and logs
On both iOS and Android, the app stores and the underlying operating system may automatically collect crash reports, diagnostic logs, and performance data when the app crashes or behaves unexpectedly, such as device model, operating system version, app version, and crash stack traces.
We use this diagnostic information only to identify, understand, and fix bugs and stability issues, and to improve app performance. This information is collected by Apple and Google as platform providers and is processed according to their own privacy policies.
Diagnostic and crash information is not used by GlutenGo AI for advertising or profiling.
G. Location information
GlutenGo AI does not request access to your precise or approximate device location.
When you tap a restaurant or place search option, GlutenGo AI opens Google Maps or a browser with a search query, such as gluten-free restaurants or gluten-free pizza. Any location access, nearby results, or location permissions are handled by Google Maps or the user's browser, not by GlutenGo AI.
How We Use Information
We use information only as needed to operate the app features you choose to use. We may use information to:
- Create and manage your login account through Firebase Authentication
- Let you access the app securely
- Provide AI responses when you send a message to the AI assistant
- Display ads through Google AdMob, depending on your consent and region
- Load recipe content stored in Supabase
- Help maintain app security and prevent abuse
- Respond to support, privacy, or account deletion requests if you contact us
GlutenGo AI does not sell your personal information. GlutenGo AI does not collect your saved products, scan history, shopping list, or local preferences on our own servers.
AI Assistant and Health Information
GlutenGo AI provides educational information only. The AI assistant does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, or emergency support.
AI responses may be incomplete, inaccurate, or outdated. Always verify product labels, ingredient lists, allergen statements, and restaurant information before consuming food.
If you have celiac disease, coeliac disease, gluten sensitivity, food allergies, symptoms, or any medical condition, consult a qualified healthcare professional or registered dietitian before making medical or dietary decisions.
Advertising and Consent
GlutenGo AI uses Google AdMob to display ads. Depending on your location, you may be asked for advertising consent through Google's consent system.
AdMob may process advertising identifiers, IP address, device information, diagnostic information, and ad interaction data according to Google's policies and your consent choices.
You may be able to manage ad privacy choices inside the app where required, or through your device settings.
Third-Party Services
GlutenGo AI uses third-party services to operate certain app features:
Firebase Authentication
Used for account creation, login, authentication, and account deletion.
Sign in with Apple
Used as an optional sign-in method when you choose to sign in with your Apple ID. Apple processes your Apple ID sign-in information according to Apple's own privacy policy.
Google AdMob
Used to display ads and manage advertising consent. AdMob may process advertising identifiers, IP address, device information, diagnostic information, and ad interaction data according to Google's policies and your consent choices.
OpenAI API
Used to provide AI assistant responses. When you send a message to the AI assistant, your message is sent to OpenAI to generate a response.
Supabase
Used only to store and deliver recipe content managed by GlutenGo AI. We do not use Supabase to store your saved products, scan history, shopping list, chat history, or user profile data.
Google Maps
When you tap a restaurant or place search option, the app opens Google Maps or a browser search. Google Maps handles its own location permissions and data processing.
Apple App Store and Google Play (diagnostics)
Apple and Google may automatically collect crash reports, diagnostic logs, and performance data on iOS and Android respectively, to help identify and fix bugs and improve app stability.
These third-party services process information according to their own privacy policies and terms.
Data Storage and Security
- Most user-created app data, such as saved products, scan history, shopping items, preferences, and chat history, is stored locally on the user's device unless clearly stated otherwise.
- GlutenGo AI does not store this local app data on its own servers.
- Account login is handled by Firebase Authentication. Recipe content is stored in Supabase. AI assistant messages are processed through OpenAI API when you use the AI chat feature. Ads are served through Google AdMob.
- We rely on reputable third-party providers to help protect information processed through their services. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
Data Retention
- GlutenGo AI does not retain saved products, scan history, shopping lists, preferences, or chat history on our own servers when these items are stored locally on your device.
- Account information is retained through Firebase Authentication while your account exists. When you delete your account, Firebase processes deletion according to its own retention and deletion practices.
- Messages sent to the AI assistant may be processed by OpenAI API according to OpenAI's applicable API data practices.
- Recipe content stored in Supabase is app content managed by GlutenGo AI and is not user personal data.
- Some limited information may remain temporarily in third-party backups, logs, or security systems where allowed or required by law.
Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain personal information. You can:
- Delete your account in the app from Profile > Privacy > Delete my account
- Manage advertising consent where required through the app's ad privacy choices
- Control Google Maps location permissions directly in Google Maps or your device settings
- Manage or revoke Sign in with Apple access anytime from your Apple ID settings (Settings > [your name] > Password & Security > Apps Using Apple ID)
- Delete local app data by clearing app storage or uninstalling the app
- Contact us for privacy or account questions
Because saved products, scan history, shopping lists, preferences, and chat history may be stored locally on your device, deleting the app or clearing app storage may remove that local data.
Account Deletion
You may delete your account inside the app by going to Profile > Privacy > Delete my account.
If you cannot access the app, you may request account deletion from our Delete Account page or by contacting support.
Children's Privacy
GlutenGo AI is not intended for children under the age required by applicable law to use online services without parental consent. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without appropriate consent. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us.
International Users
Your information may be processed in countries where our third-party service providers operate. Privacy protections may vary depending on your location.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
- We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
- The latest version will be posted on this page, and the “Last updated” date will be updated when changes are made.
